  Very pleasant

  We stayed for a week at cascina corte grande in Semiana and we had a very pleasant time. The place is beautifully restorated and the staff is excellent. Our 10 year old daughter had multiple horseriding leasons by Fabio, who taught her a lot about american style riding. (Even our dog (a german shepard) had a very good time). The pool was excellent because when we stayed there, it was very hot. The reastaurant is very nice and the complete staf (including Allesandro and especially Paolo) made it a very pleasant stay for us.

  Great place for kids

  Located in the countryside of the Po-river valley, surrounded by corn- and ricefields. (unfortunately this is a favourite habitat for mosquitos as well) The main reason for our visit was the presence of horses, ponies and donkeys in the stables. Our daughter took a 30min. horse-riding lesson from Fabio, who has been very patient with us, allowing us to spend a lot of time among the animals. Paolo at reception was very helpful and speaks english, french and spanish. Very quiet at night, so we slept well. The breakfast was great, with some homemade pastries, and great italian coffee. Surrounding area does not offer lots of distraction. We spent a "bad weather day" at Serravalle Outlet for shopping. There is free wifi available at the reception area, but not in our room. The western play area for kids has seen better days. Pool is great. Dinner at restaurant was good.

  a mistake

  We travelled as a family and had a double room and a family room. Our room was acceptable although the shower cubicle had seen better days and the glass door to our room from the communal hallway was simply bizarre. But the family room was totally inappropriate for small children---- entered via a metal spiral staircase with a bannister strut loose and nowhere to store the buggy. Inside, the stairs to the sleeping area were very steep indeed. However the deal breaker for us was the useless airconditioning which gave out more heat than it took away! We booked on the basis of full airconditioning.The whole place was very run down and I do not feel able to recommend this place to anyone. Full marks to Paolo who does his best.
