Great Family ServiceGreat location for the beach, the lake and getting into Rome. Lovely food both at breakfast and in the Restaurant at night. Rooms are clean and comfortable and when the restaurant isn't open (Mon-Wed), there are some nice places to eat out not too far away although a car is essential.

Welcoming, relaxing and family run in peaceful surroundingsThis is my second review of Casale di Gricciano as we did indeed return again for two weeks this September. We have also spent a couple of weekends here in Nov 2013 and Jan 2014, as we brought a cat back to England that we met here last summer who had been abandoned at the restaurant. We have fallen in love with the tranquility of the location, but most of all the family, who are always willing to help in whatever way they can to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. The grounds and pool area are beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast is a simple offering of fresh cheeses, hams, fruit, yoghurt, homemade cake, juice and as much fresh coffee as you can drink - you will not go hungry. The on-site restaurant is great, serving delicious traditional home cooked food at reasonable prices - and the homemade wine isn't bad either! The rooms are clean, spacious and cool despite the lack of air con, although there are fans in each room. My only bugbear had been the showers which were a little snug to say the least, but as I write this review they are being changed for larger ones with a single opening door, much better for those of us with a fuller figure. The location is great as a base for visiting some beautiful medieval towns, the Etruscan sites and of course Rome which is easily accessible by train. Close to Fiumicino airport, but not troubled by air traffic at all. A car is a must.

Bad,bad, bad experience!!! Stole my money and left us on the street! Here is my experience with this hotel/farm: We had a lovely trip to Italy and had to stay last night before going back on the morning flight. After searching for a close to airport place to stay I found this hotel and following recommendations booked a room for me, my wife and the kid via Expedia. Since we were planning long drive from Venice, I contacted 4(!) days in advance this facility and mentioned possible late arrival between 21:00-22:00. I got OK for this by email from hotel. The nightmare began when we came to the hotel's gate after 7 hours driving at 21:15, driving last 5 kilometers on a dark bumpy road. Guess what, nobody was waiting for us!!! Farm's gate was closed, no signs of living soul. I tried to call via intercom again and again - no answer. I honked a horn - nothing. I called phone number, which was on my reservation AND on the farm's outer sign (so no mistakes) - nada. On the third attempt some women's voice answered me in Italian and after 3 minutes of repetitive mantra where I was trying to explain (in English) that we have reservation, saying my name and asking to open the gate - no result! Eventually the call was dropped. Meanwhile I tried to translate English to Italian with phone app and redial again, but nobody answered anymore. After 50 minutes we spent there trying in vain to draw someone's attention we had to leave into the night with no place to stay. Here I posted a video of our "pleasant" stay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZjzCbHPACc P.S. When I tried to refund my money via Expedia, where I booked the trip, Expedia's representative called to the farm owners and asked for refund, they refused saying they were waiting up to 23:00 - no kidding, liars. We spent much time driving to this place, gas and tolls and came to the closed gate. We literally were left in the street into the night with the kid and had to find place to stay. Needless to say that our impression on Italy was spoiled. Because of negligence, irresponsibility my advice is - KEEP OUT OF THIS PLACE!!!

Real ItalienOne night was not enough to enjoy the sphere and good home made and grown Italien food. The produce their own olive oil, meat, grappa etc. If it was not for our next stay in Rome we surely would have stayed another night.

Great peopleVery friendly people (Stefania, the owner is special person) in an amagazin place, very quite with a country view in Cerveteri. There's also a good restaurant and you can buy products (oil, jams, distillates). I recommend it
