Not my best reservationStayed in this hotel with several pre teens for a soccer tournament. Requested adjoining rooms on reservation. Called day of arrival to assure adjoining rooms ready. On arrival, took 45 min to check in, adjoining doors would not open, staff not helpful, no serving utensils on breakfast buffet, coffee maker broken. Requested general manager...called, but didnt seem to care. Must have been his day off. First stay at a Wyndham...wont be staying here again and will be skeptical of the Wyndham brand

Good spotReviews for this property were not extremely comforting, but upon arrival check in went quick, rooms were good and overall the stay was very pleasant. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Parking left a little to be desired however that is a minor detail.

Overall good stayOverall good stay, We stayed in CS for a tournament and to visit the A&M campus. The hotel was very modern looking , We were dissatisfied that they are not serving breakfast and the bar is closed due to management changes, We specifically booked here for the breakfast and bar. The beds were not completely comfortable but the room was nice and clean with full direct tv channels and staff was nice and accommodating. I would stay here again when they start serving food and beverages again. The location is close to shopping and food a jack in the box was directly in front of the hotel.

Newly Remodeled but needs workWe stayed at the TRYP by Wyndham College Station on a Friday and Saturday night and assigned room 407. We are Diamond Rewards members -- but no recognition or amenity (water/snack) was offered at check-in, which is a little annoying. The hotel has undergone a major renovation to all the rooms and lobby area in the past two years, so everything is still in pretty good repair. Rates are generally higher for this hotel than one would expect, but it is close to campus and the website claims it has a bar and breakfast buffet and "gastropub" restaurant. However if you are choosing this hotel based upon breakfast availability and an on-site restaurant/bar, be aware that the website is incorrect. There is no restaurant, the bar is closed and the "breakfast buffet" with "eggs, bacon and potatoes" is actually a waffle machine, bread, bagels and a toaster. When I asked the lady working the front desk about why the bar was closed and the breakfast was not as it was listed on the website, she said the hotel has new owners who closed the bar and had to downsize the breakfast. This is really unfortunately since its a major selling point to the facility and we would have made reservations at the Hyatt or Home2 by HIlton had we known in advance they closed the bar/restaurant and all but eliminated the free breakfast. As for the rooms: The bed is very comfortable -- the mattress is firm (which I like) and the bathrooms have walk-in showers with ample hot water and pressure. They've eliminated the individual soaps/shampoo and use wall mounted pump. Like I mentioned, the hotel was renovated in the past two years, so the paint and furnishings are all in good repair. The pillows were nice and firm as well. There was also a weird couch-like-thing (reminded me of something from IKEA) that could conceivably sleep a third person (perhaps a child?). The AC/Heater is very good, although there is a moisture problem throughout the hotel. Everything in our room was damp, despite setting the heater to 80 degrees. We even tried turning on the AC to see if it would dry out the room, but to no avail. The halls smell a little musty, but they've placed Glade car vent clips over the hallway air vents which seems to help. We used the washroom -- very very nice, new and clean machinery. Overall I was disappointed in my stay at the TRYP. Again, what sold me on making a reservation was the Restaurant/Bar and a hot breakfast promised on the website, which was misleading. Staff should make an attempt to either remove the misleading information from Wyndham's website or call guests prior to arrival to inform them that the bar is closed and breakfast is just the basics. If you're looking for a clean place to stay near campus with a nice lobby/family area, --- at a price point that seems a bit high for what you're actually getting -- the TRYP College Station first the bill.

Needs ImprovementI've never stayed at TRYP hotel before and I do have to say it's a fairly nice place to stay but I do have a have things that I feel need to be brought up. I've had my fair share of stays at other hotels so what I bring up are things that I feel are standard across the board. First thing I noticed when I settled in was that as far as for channel selection there isn't really any with the exception of channels I don't watch and not sure who else would and your HBO selection which is ok. I normally watch a variety of sites from DTV from channels 242 through 280. Also like to watch Fox news, MSNBC, CNN and those types which I couldn't find. Second on the carpet surrounding the bed it has some pretty bad stains that I would say needs to be cleaned or carpet swapped out. Not sure what the stain is but makes me think twice about walking barefoot on the floors. I have attached a pic. Next thing is the bathroom, I do have to say overall it's a very nice design all around but the thing I like the most after a long day is a long hot shower(with good water pressure) before bed especially on a cold night. The shower was luke warm turned all the way to hot and very minimal water pressure. Last and one I can't say too much about is that you guys don't have a breakfast to offer with the stay other than a few things that the front desk informed me about due to not having the license. Audrey, overall I have to say it's a very nice hotel, guest services are great but the other things I mentioned do need improvement especially for the price I'm paying. I stayed in Tyler the last couple days at the La Quinta Inn and Suites and have continued to stay there because they have everything I have mentioned above and more for the same price. I give them 4 1/2 stars but here unfortunately I can only rate about a 1 1/2. The next time I'm in town I'll think twice before staying again. These again are just my opinions and hope there isn't any offense but I do think there is room for improvement.
