  Relax in traditional village

  We have stayed for one week during October in this very calm small beautifull traditional cretan village. Accomodation was clean and comfortable, nice garden for us to use, very good service. Next to village church.

  Stunning little complex in peaceful surroundings.

  Just back from a few days at Agarathos! The complex comprises of 5 new build apartments in well maintained gardens with the addition of a pool for the upcoming summer. The room was impeccably clean upon arrival & cleaned daily! The double bed was spacious & really comfortable. The area is very rural, lots of farmers fields & olive groves. Very quiet location away from the tourist traps! Traditional Cretan village! I would definitely return! Their restaurant is just up the road & you get discounts on the food there(recommended). Complex is on the road that runs to Balos beach which was handy! Get up early like I did & the beach is all yours... & if you see a man waiting at the beginning of the road to Balos, his name is Spiros, he works the car park at the beach, speaks very little to no English & will be wanting a lift.

  Cool little village!

  We stayed here for one week. It started off poorly. After we had lunch in the taverna [full menu prices] the lady came up with info that we could have "this and that" for "this and that" special price. Should have told us BEFORE we ordered, not after!! Consequently we did not eat in the taverna again, except for our breakfast [included in our booking]. Breakfast is poor [and starts too late, at 09:00] and it's the same every day: tea or coffee, 1 glass fresh orange juice [good], 1 boiled egg [count them!], and joghurt with honey, and [standard on Crete] half a ton of bread, and jam. In 2020, the price for breakfast here is 9 euro, ouch!! When we enterted our room [number 4 which is probably the best one to get, right in front of the pool and away from the road]. Airco did not kaput! Took 1 1/2 days to get sorted. No instructions how to operate the TV [very few channels and plenty that do not work; we only used it to get a bit of music in the morning]. Wifi okay. Bed: okay, we slept well [after the airco had been repaired, that is]. Room okay, but no sofa [there is space for it]. Shower okay. Not much storage options. Pool: nice. But gardens around it need to be cleaned up. Several exc places to eat [all "traditional" - the word you will see countless times on Crete] not far away on foot from the apartment; we liked the "meat and fish" taverne in town a lot. Will we stay again at Agatathos? No, we think for a few euro more Ballos Beach Hotel would be a better option...

  Quiet decent place, when you want to see Balos

  Ideal place as a starting point for Balos beach. Pool, equipment, close taverns. All good with direct booking via telephone. Recommended and next time on Crete I will stay here again with all my family.
