Peaceful, beautiful and wonderful staffWe arrived late but the staff were so welcoming offering cool drinks and a meal. Our room was spotless and overlooked the beach. The food was traditional and well cooked and we sampled some great Greek so we too. The beach was deserted for most of the time so we had Crystal waters and go!den sands to ourselves, except for the daily visit from the goatherd! The pool was massive so p!eny of room for all. We hired a car as it is essential if you want to see any of the rest of the ialand. Our lasting memories though were of the staff - authentic welcome from people who seem to genuinely want you to enjoy yourselves in a fairly small friendly environment.

Peaceful & EnjoyableA lovely way to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. The resort was extremely attentive to a of our needs & inexpensive. If you are looking for seclusion and some down time, this is the perfect spot. There are several well maintained hiking trails to enjoy. We rented a car at the airport so we drove into Old Town and got the chance to explore the beauty there as well. There are several steps to get to the pebbly beach but you can also drive if you mind. There is a part private beach on the resort side & also a public restaurant & public beach on the other side that offers drink service for a few. We did both!

Not what we accepted for the money paidWe were picked up at the port for a 35 euro fee by a well furbished mini bus belonging to the resort, but after a 5 minute drive we were transferred to a local mediocre taxi which took us to the resort. It is roughly a 45 minute drive from the port to the resort, but the last 20 minutes is a dirt road (something that was not made clear when I called to book the room). The room we were given was supposedly just refurnished, but the bathroom floor was ripped in a couple of places, there were no hooks or bars to hang the towels in the bathroom (I am not kidding), and there was no screen on the window in the bathroom which meant we had mosquito issues. There was a complimentary meal included in the price, this consisted of an appetizer, main course and dessert which is set (you don't have a choice). The problem here is that we waited literally an hour for the main course which was a seafood risotto and when it came it was cold, to the extent that the risotto was sticking together. The appetizer and dessert were not worth mentioning. I brought up the issue of the bathroom and free meal with management, in the first instance they told me that they will talk to the person who renovated the apartment, and regarding the cold meal they said that it was a new chef. Both unacceptable excuses for a resort of this class, and especially given what we paid for the room. Otherwise, the resort is in a nice location and there is a great tavern on the beach which had great food.

Lovely but a little flawed! This hotel is in a beautiful location and well laid out. Quiet and clean, close to the beach (down 170 steps or a more gentle road) and with a stunning outlook. We had a lovely time...but a few points worth bearing in mind. The resort is 17k from the port, you need a car ideally and the last few kilometres are very slow unmetalled road, fine but a bit steep in places and not for the faint-hearted in the dark. Andros town (Chora) is 1.5 hours away. COVID restrictions meant that breakfasts were pre-packaged airline type meals, not great, a lot of supermarket type bread etc a real shame as Andros has so many locally produced specialities (like delicious local cheese, bread, honey, tomatoes and fruits), this could have been better with some imagination even without a buffet. Coffee is (I think instant) from a machine, not the lovely Greek coffee that is available elsewhere. There is no dining at the resort, no daily maid (every 3 days), no sunbeds on the beach (but the beach cafe has plenty for 3 Euros). Room furnishings were nice but inexplicably there was no dressing table and the only mirror was in the slightly dark bathroom. I think most hotels would have a mirror and dressing table in the bedroom. Made my wife's hair drying a little challenging! To say "fully equipped kitchen" is quite wide of the mark. 2 bowls between three of us, in fact, there was hardly anything. If you need to self cater bring everything! tea towels, washing up cloths and liquid, salt and pepper, cooking oil etc. There were a few pots, pans, plates and implements but little else. The nearest supplies are in Gavrios 35 minutes away by car (supermarket does not open on Sundays). The hotel will get groceries for you, next day delivery, just give them a list. There is a nice and traditional taverna on the beach but this is the only place unless you drive some distance. It was quite busy at the weekend. So fine for a few days but limiting for longer. There is good 4G signal outside but no WIFI in the chalets. In summary, it a lovely place, the staff were great and attentive - we would go back, but luxurious in term of international comparisons is pushing it!
