  Excellent value in central location

  Only stayed the one night and having been burnt with hotels in Launceston many times of the last 3 years I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary at the price I paid which was around the $80. Had just come from Scottsdale where I stayed in an old pub that was grossly overpriced and overated. Prepay here at Adina though and you get a better deal. The room was clean and neat, had a nice little balcony overlooking the city, spa, bar fridge, heat pump and al the normal things you get. Short walk to all the restaurants in Charles and George. On the 3rd gloor so appreciated the lift as most places don't have that. My only gripe. The shower is over the spa and no problem getting in but once the spa is wet it becomes very very slippery and with high sides is hard to get out. Other problem is the floor has been cleaned I suspect with a detergent type cleaner and becomes super slippery. This is easily fixed by using a commercial floor cleaner like View Quick and putting rubber mats with suction pads in the spa Meals are not available on site but a 5 min walk puts you in the cafe precinct and the choice is unlimited. Will definitely stay here in future visits.

  Great views, noisy neighbours

  Well appointed and clean apartment with great views across Launceston, facing away from the main road. Not great sound proofing, we could hear the neighbours using the plumbing. We had noisy neighbours upstairs, we put up with it for a couple of hours but it made sitting on the balcony not enjoyable. Even though the hotel stated that excessive noise wouldn't be tolerated, they failed to act on our complaint.

  Either my Standards are Too High or Folks Have Lower Standards than I

  A total disappointment since the place was old and outdated. While the place was clean, it was way too small. We were only staying four nights, so we booked a studio apartment. Well, we got the studio part anyway. The room had no drawers, which meant we literally lived out of our suitcases. We had to bring in the patio table into the room (which made it even smaller) in order to put out second suitcase on it so we could dig each day for our clothes. To top it off, there was a monstrosity in the bathroom which meant that sitting on the toilet had to be sideways (see photo). Again, the place was clean overall although no vacuuming occurred on a daily basis while we were there. Fresh towels (which date back years and years) had to be requested since after you dried yourself, they were completely soaked. Be sure you state that you did not use any of the breakfast packs since they charged us for a breakfast pack on the day we checked out. We caught on our AMEX statement and had to call to correct. Totally a disappointment to our visit to Launceston.

  Basic

  The roadtside rating shows 4 stars. No way! Very dated and basic. Views were good but everything else very basic. There is a guest laundry which we used. Friendly staff and the view were the highlight.

  Wifi did not work

  The receptionist tried to get wifi working but its just not up to scratch. Slow, drops out and on my tablet just non existent. Room is just ok. Towels are thin and worn. Accommodation is not what I was lead to believe. Receptionist was good at talking up Launceston and helpful.
