  Average motel, terrible service

  We stayed for 4 nights over late December and New Years. After checking this place out on their website we were pretty disappointed with what we got for our money (and boy were prices inflated over New Years!). Free WiFi is advertised but the signal doesnt reach the rooms, so you have to sit in the corridor if you want to use it. They also advertised a 24 hour reception on their site, but we never saw a single receptionist there once. They was always just a sign saying theyre unavailable. They have a range of DVDs to borrow but keep them locked up and no one can rent them because the desk is never attended. They never replaced towels during a 4 night stay either, which we would have liked. I saw another reviewer on here saying his stay was cancelled after an issue with his card. That doesnt surprise me either. I was emailed a pretty abrupt email saying my card didnt work and they would cancel my stay if I didnt supply another card asap. That was about a week before my stay so I had time to provide another card, but the tone of the email in conjunction with the fact the staff were never actually present at the desk fits exactly with the poor service experienced by the other reviewer. The room was okay for an older cheapy motel. It had an iron, TV, fridge and decent hot water. It was a bit dirty (smears of something on the curtains, iron burn in the carpet) but we could deal with all that just fine. Ultimately the service really let this place down though. Would not stay again - plenty of other options out there. I hope this place can improve their service because then as a cheapy motel theyd be okay.

  When we went into our room the bed was made but the bathroom had not been cleaned,had to ask for it to be cleaned. Stayed 2 nights Room wasn't serviced. Dirtiest place we have ever stayed in. Never again

  Unreturned Bond

  We stayed here on the 24/11/19. The hotel is located in a good location,the room was clean and my brother's golden retriever was allowed to stay in the room. I paid a bond for the dog and was advised this would be refunded if there weren't any issues. I have been in contact with the Hotel staff and owners on 5 or more times in the past week and advised the money would be returned or an explanation provided. At this time I have not received any correspondence and my calls are being ended after one or two rings.

  booked and paid last year in june 2019

  NOT HAPPY - booked and paid last year in june 2019 for feb 2020 - 3 nights accomodation - get an email saying the have CANCELLED MY BOOKING BECAUSE THEY ARE OVER BOOKED - what a load of crap - no phone call - and when i phoned them to find out why - they are not answering there calls , all i got back from booking.com was they have refunded me and told me to look elsewhere - what ever happened to people booking early to get good accomodation - WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN

  Decent well-priced motel to the south of the CBD

  Overall I was really satisfied with my stay at the motel, which is now known as Adelaide Pulteney Motel. It was a bit of a leap of faith as I couldnt find out much about it given the recent name change but through a bit of searching I found out its under new management and also having a bit of a revamp (as at Feb 2020). The reviews for the motel under its previous moniker werent great so I didnt hold out huge hopes, but I have to say I had a great five night stay. Id never stayed in an Australian style motel before. If you havent and want all the amenities of a hotel, this isnt the place for you. But if youre an independent traveler I think its great. Its located on the south terrace, essentially the edge of the CBD by the park, and in easy walking distance to the tram/buses. Arrival is self service - you get sent a text on the day of arrival with a code that enables you to enter the door and collect your room key from a lockbox. The bed was big and comfy - possibly new. In addition to the fridge and kettle there was a microwave so perfect for travellers who want to prepare light meals. There was also a very large private balcony to enjoy drinks and meals on. Not sure if all rooms have a balcony but there is a large veranda for communal use that overlooks the park. Theres also a washing machine and honesty box for payment. The refurb seemed to be half done - one half of the motel was still to be painted. Theyre opting for a neutral fresh colour which brightens things up. Some of the furniture is a bit old but perfectly serviceable. Hopefully they will hurry up with the rebrand on sites like this and on the building itself.
