Wonderfully charming accommodations! Our family enjoyed three nights in Alto da Ribeira (5 of us) and Bananeiras (2 of our group, but sleeps 4). The property is rural, so dont expect restaurants and shops nearby. We did not have a car and the walk into Prainha to the market was fine for the younger of our group, but not for my 79 year old mother... however, she was perfectly happy to sit with a glass of wine on the patio with her friends and enjoy the beautiful views and lovely gardens. The houses are so very cute and really give you a feel for traditional living. My mother lived in the Azores in the late 1960s and loved the accommodations as it brought back a lot of memories. I only regret not having more time at this very peaceful and beautiful property. Next time though I will rent a car as I think it would be easier to go to the market and explore the island. Prainha is definitely not in a largely populated area... but taxis are happy to drive out there and are very reasonable. We also used a local tour company who was able to pick us up and drop us off though so it it was all good... My mother had a small mishap and tripped... and we ended up needing to call an ambulance and be taken to Sao Rogue for a few stitches. It was totally a freak accident, but I appreciated that Sylvia has taken the time to have emergency numbers in their welcome folder as well as posted in the kitchen! It made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. Sylvia even showed up just as the ambulance did because word had gotten to her that we had called for an ambulance... and she was so concerned and helpful. And by the way, the paramedics and hospital staff were wonderful as well! Thank you for a wonderful stay - we are already planning to return to Pico and hope that Adegas do Pico will be available!

BeautifulThis review is late in being posted but wanted to say what an amazing place this was to start out Azorean holiday. We wished we would have allowed more time here in Pico. The house was so peaceful and beautifully maintained. We started off with 3 days in Pico, 5 in Sao Miguel and 4 in Madeira. The ladies who run the office are so kind and helpful. We had a flight delay and they stayed way beyond what would have been expected to meet us-close to 7:30pm-to make sure we arrived safely and were given an escort to our little house. Included was a map with hand detailed instructions on what to see on the island. The home was lovely, clean and so relaxing. Sylvia and her fellow employees were awesome. We wish we would have had more time!

Fantastic cottageOur cottage (Faiol) was 8 meters from the ocean. 8 meters. Characteristic small house with 2 bedrooms (and two bathrooms + a third toilet). Well renovated, well furnished: everything is there (apart maybe from Wifi. But 4G works well, and who needs Netflix or Internet when you can watch the ocean all day, the waves hitting). A place to unwind, to write and read. Communication with reception couldn't be better, welcoming is very professional and careful.

Beautiful stone cottagesOur 4 night stay on Pico Island was amazing! The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortably furnished. The women in the reception were very helpful in giving us ideas on what to see. Two restaurants were within walking distance.

Amazing place! We spent 4 night here for our wedding anniversary. It was incredible. Our little house was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable and very, very clean. We made use of the BBQ area one night and that was a blast. Our view was incredible. The staff was amazingly helpful and responsive both before our stay and during. We hope to make it back to Pico again (great island) and if we do we will be staying here again!
