to be recommended as an astonishing hotel !Very good reception. Our room was confortable and quiete. We took dinner in the restaurant of this hotel and enjoy the quality of the foods. The public parking was full... it was difficult to find a place...especially when we don't know the place !

Recommendable stopover on the way to PiedmontRooms well fitted in a historical buidling, next to the Bard Fortress. Comfortable bedding. Enchanting restaurant, serving well prepared, quality food. Rewarding breakfast. Recommendable stopover on the way to Piedmont or the Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa Massifs.

A lovely place for a one night stayI have stumbled across this place when searching for an accommodation in Valle dAosta. I agree with the reviews about hotels design and its attention to details. Rooms are very nicely furnished and mine was spacious and very comfortable (room 105). The spa is small but offers a cozy atmosphere and a place to unwind at the end of the day. The restaurant is excellent and I would recommend anyone to have a dinner. The service was quick and very friendly, although a waiter had a bit overbearing attitude when he learned I was dining alone. Downside: poorly indicated parking space that is just across the bridge on the other side of the river bank. A hotel offers a photo of a map that leaves you guessing instead of offering an address or GPS location. The hotel and the restaurant are placed along the main regional road, a highway is just a stretch away, plus the main street going through the Bard village is open to the traffic. Hotel is well built and isolated but the traffic noise and the noise of tourists making their way to the Bard fortress are bound to wake you up in the morning. Also a major negative side in my room were the doors they were not sound proofed and anytime someone walked outside my room felt like they were in the room. My last remark concerns a receptionist who welcomed me when I have arrived. I inquired about activities and historic sites in the region and I couldnt have received more lame answer. The person in question couldnt even give me some basic information about visiting fortress and let me understood theres nothing else to do in the area. Right there and then I have decided to stay only one night and finish my weekend in Torino instead of spending another day in the hotel.

Great boutique hotel as en-route to the mountainsSituated at the entrance to the medieval town of Bard which in itself is well worth the walk up...outstandingly described with great detail and two charming cafes at the top. Ad Gallais is delightful but struggles very slightly with its position and identity - however should not stop you going there! Lovely helpful reception, nothing is too much. Boutique period style rooms, great attention to detail - furnishing, linen and bathroom. Meticulous service on terrace and inside restaurant perhaps slightly over curated. Because of the narrow streets, parking is not that easy, so either up the hill or across the road. Whereas the prices are a touch ambitious in comparison to others in the area, this hotel so needed the proprietor or manager to be there to 'take ownership' - welcome guests and make them feel part of the scene, perhaps offer a glass of wine and maybe a free pass to the funicular - that would make all the difference......

Almost perfectLocation- in a pitoresque small town just beneath Bard fortress. It s a boutique hotel, not many rooms. Price- slighltly above the average for the area, but cheaper than Switzerland. Rooms- excellent, with a roof window overlooking the sky, with wooden very nice furniture, very cosy and unique. Breakfast-quite good with local food but you have to ask for caffe, eggs. They tell you that theyve got everything but they jusy don t show it because of few guests. Wireless- very poor, unusable. Spa&jacuzzi- for 120 euros/ night you would expect it to be free of charge, but no- 15/person for 2 hours. Parking-is free but quite far from the hotel if you have luggage to carry. Restaurant- actually the one inside is the best in the region but quite expensive. The one called bistro in front of the hotel is very very poor, tastless pasta. Staff- friendly, but a little arrogant- you can really see the french and swiss influence here.
