    This place is a SCAM!!!

My family and I booked a reservation to stay at this place on Expedia. When we showed up to check in, they told us that they didn't see our reservation. We showed them our confirmation code and then suddenly they found our reservation, BUT told us that they have no availability and would not honor our reservation. Something was not adding up. The front desk people were rude and unhelpful, basically trying to push us out the door. We tried to reason with them and get a better explanation from them to find out how something like this could happen, but they refused. They just told us that they would not honor our reservation and that we needed to leave. They said that their "internet person" probably forgot to update the website. Upset, frustrated, and devastated, we left the hotel and went on our phones frantically looking for a new room. It was 100 degrees and 90% humidity, and we had to run around Siem Reap searching for new accommodations. On Hotwire, we found a hotel called Goyavier Boutique Hotel and decided to book it. To our shock, the reservation ended up being at THE SAME HOTEL, just under a different name. This place is a total scam. They post availability on these websites under two different hotel names and then they do not honor the reservation. It took us nearly 3 hours to find a new hotel. Dragging our luggage in the 100 degree weather around Siem Reap. And that's not even the worst part believe it or not. When we called Hotwire and Expedia to get our money back, they said that the phone numbers for the hotel were not in service so they could not get in touch with the hotel to see what happened. Two days later, we get a message from Expedia telling us that the hotel REFUSES TO REFUND OUR MONEY. Can you believe that? Not only did they not honor our reservations twice, under two different hotel names, but they also refused to refund our money. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Everyone needs to know that this place is a scam. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to run the risk of not getting your room when you show up to check in. Plus, I have not even mentioned how dirty the place was. The pictures do not reflect the true essence of this place. It was a dump. We didn't need to get passed the lobby to figure that out. It was a blessing in disguise because we ended up staying at another hotel with great service, clean and ideally located next to the night market and Pub street. I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. STAY AWAY from this place AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

    Disaster

Although I had proof of booking they said they didnt have a room for us. They were impolite, the entrance was shabby and the staff were unhelpful. Whilst I was waiting an Italian client was complaining that they had no sheets (theyre being washed and will be ready about 5) no towels (we dont have enough and are going to buy some) and no Wi-Fi. I feel fortunate because we ended up in a wonderful hotel with incredible staff. Keep away ! They really are a scam.

    Terrible experience

It was a bad decision for me to book this hotel. As usual, I booked a room at this hotel through Hotwire before my trip and paid for 5 nights. I got confirmation for my reservation. Before my trip, I emailed the hotel to arrange an airport pick-up for free and I got confirmation from the hotel saying that someone would wait for us at the airport. But when we arrived at the Siem Reap airport at midnight, we couldn't find the people from the hotel. We tried to phone the hotel but the phone number we received in our reservation confirmation was incorrect. We found another phone number at the hotel website but this number was also incorrect. We had to take a tuk-tuk to go to the hotel by ourselves. It was very late and we felt very tired when we finally arrived at the hotel. To our surprise, the hotel staff told us they didn't have a room for us. They said they didn't receive my reservation at all and all the rooms have been booked. We showed them the reservation confirmation but they didn't admit they had our reservation. The hotel staff was impolite and didn't speak good English. They didn't show any respect or apology and just transferred us to another local hotel with poor condition. We had to pay extra money for the expense in another hotel and also the transportation fee. The Achhariyak Angkor Boutique hotel didn't pay for this. On the next day, we spent almost half day negotiating with Hotwire for this issue. The Hotwire customer service also couldn't reach this hotel because the phone number is incorrect. So we had to go back to this hotel again to get their correct phone number. Finally, hotwire helped us to find another hotel with good condition and service. But we spent quite much money and time and were unhappy because the Achhariyak Angkor Boutique hotel didn't admit our reservation. I think the hotel is dishonest and doesn't show basic respect to guests. If you decide to choose this hotel, be prepared to arrive there but without a room.

    Needs a lot of work

I decided on staying in Achhariyak Angkor Boutique because it is reasonably priced and its away from town and noise. I prefer a small scale boutique hotel for the uncluttered and more intimate feel. This hotel has a nice cosy feel about it. It is clean, and green. The staff are polite and do try to help. I would like to compliment the two helpful front desk staff, Ms Leehor and ms Somaly. They go their way out to help me whenever I go to them. Ms Leehor is efficient and reliable. She has an excellent customer service skill, and is always genuinely welcoming. Some things the management should look at. - theres a lot of confusion with on line booking agents. I noticed several guests who had booked but this hotel do not have any corresponding confirmation with the agents. Achhariyak should find a more systematic way of locking in bookings from the various agents. The hotel should also figure a way to stop bookings from unauthorized agents. - Tourists should always make it a good practice to double check with both the agents and the hotel regarding their bookings before leaving for their vacation. - This hotel needs a local experienced management who can communicate effectively with its staff and suppliers. It will help to expedite on the operational matters. The management should also be proficient in English so as to effectively manage foreign guests. - Sort out immediately on basic facility issues eg. Phones in rooms not working, credit card machine not available, pool towels not readily available, room towels and shampoo/body soap constantly running out, bath rooms drainage not working.. etc ... - Spruce up on the massage room. It is uncharacteristic and dull. Right now its an empty room, with 3 mattresses on the floor.. proper massage beds should be used instead. - Improved the lighting especially just outside the rooms. When we returned in the night, we almost tripped on the steps leading to the door. We couldnt see the key hole to open the door. There is a lot of potential with this property if it is well managed. I wouldnt recommend this resort unless theres a change in the management. But I could be persuaded if ms Leehor is still there the next time I visit Siem Reap.

    Dirty. Smelly. Awful hotel

Terrible place to stay. No transport on arrival after sending 3 reminder emails. When you arrive the entrance is filthy. Cat mess everywhere. We were left without bedding for 3 days out of seven. We had no water for three days. This made the room stink. The staff were rude and unhelpful especially the night porter who is like a village idiot. To top it all we orginised a taxi the day before we left for an early morning flight. They forgot to book this and we nearly missed our flight. THERE ARE MUCH BETTER HOTELS IN MUCH BETTER LOCATIONS. YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU STAY HERE. ps if you decide to ignore all of the above please dont eat the breakfast. My partner was on bed for two days after eating it here
