    Room For Improvement

Apparently, ACHAT have taken over the old "Sineo am Park" and - hopefully - they have only just started. The rooms appear unchanged (not renovated), a good part of the carpets need replacements (staircases!), the indoor pool still needs water (!) and the breakfast buffet has room for upgrades (limited bread selection should be a good starting point). Also, an empty minibar won´t convince me. The location is quite convenient and rather quiet, you can easily walk to a restaurant for dinner, for example. Parking is very convenient in the Hotel garage downstairs. Considering the rather moderate prices, I would rate it still "Average", however, if this is supposed to be part of ACHAT´s premium range, I´m not desparate to experience the rest of their portfolio.

perfect location in the center of the German Weinstrasse, but in need for an update

The location is super. Achat hotel has its own parking garage and big rooms. But the hotel could need some renovation. The view from the street is not impressive. Some of the Bad Duerkheim hotels really don't have any charme from the outside. The interior has this typical style with wood on the wall and a lots of carpet, which are a bit used, The curtain is really thin and does not block the sunlight. A bit disturbing in the summertime when the sun rises before 6pm, luckily I always have shades. the Wifi is slow. Bathroom wasn't properly cleaned. The first day at breakfast I was disappointed, none of the tables were covered, probably a big group just left, second day better. The restaurant is very spacy, quiet and also has parc view. The terrace also have view on the parc is great. The swimming pool was closed, unfortunately. But you have the kind front desk officer who helps you with everything

Excellent Location Near Wurstmarkt and Train Station

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. I had initially booked my stay at a different hotel, but when I needed to make a change in dates, they could not accommodate me. So, I cancelled my reservation with the other hotel and booked with ACHAT, instead. When I first arrived at the hotel, I was extremely tired after a long 13 hour flight plus tram delays to get here. I arrived a couple of hours before the check-in time of 3:00. The reception desk staff was kind enough to hold my luggage for me while I utilized the hotel restaurant. I did this partly to kill time, but also because I was tired, hungry and didn't feel like going anywhere. First, I must say the restaurant was excellent. My main server there was a friendly girl named Sabina. She was very accommodating and she patiently answered my questions about a couple of items on the menu. While I waited for my meal, I was served some crusty bread and salted butter. I ended up ordering Sprite (3.20 Euros) and the Wiener Schnitzel (16 Euros.) And boy, was it delicious. The Wiener Schnitzel consisted of two tender, flattened pieces of pork that were lightly floured and sauteed until done. It was fork-tender and really tasty and juicy. It was served with crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside steak fries that were seasoned with a seasoning salt blend. They were perfectly cooked. A simple green salad also accompanied this meal. The salad consisted of green leaf lettuce, a few sliced cherry tomato halves and a vinegar and oil type of dressing. The meal was out of this world delicious. It was simple, yet substantial and I enjoyed it immensely. After I ate, I went back to the lobby and was told they had a room ready for me (45 minutes before check-in time.). This was very much appreciated. I was given room 253, which is located in the back building of the hotel. The view from this room is really nothing to look at. It essentially looks into (I think) someone's work area. So, if you want a room with a view, do not request 253. The room was fine, in general. It was clean and simple. No frills. Just one pillow. The shower worked well, and the showerhead was adjustable. It could be lowered or raised along the wall, as needed. My only concern with the shower is that the floor is extremely slippery. I slid around a couple of times when washing myself. The hairdryer in the bathroom works fine. The hotel uses large bottles of bath and body soap near the sink and in the shower, as opposed to leaving mini bottles of product. There is no air conditioning in the room, but a rotating fan was provided. The window does open to let in natural air. This wasn't really a concern because temperatures in the area varied between the high 40's to high 60's (F) while I was here. The TV works fine, too; all of the stations are in German. A mini fridge is also in the room. I used this to keep my water bottles cold. The location of this hotel is perfect, especially if you are walking. The tram literally dropped me off across the main street leading to the hotel. It took me just 5 minutes - if that - to lug my suitcases over cobblestone steps in pouring rain to get to the hotel. (For some reason, it looks farther away on the Trip Advisor map.) A short walk along the side of the hotel and through the park brings you to Wurstmarkt. In addition, there is a lovely area not too far from the train station where you can walk, shop and eat. There are many options. Unfortunately, the noise from the Wurstmarkt revelers who are coming and going past the hotel can be heard clearly inside the hotel room at all hours of the night. And my room is located in the back building, if that tells you anything. Last night, it went on until about 1:30 a.m. Overall, though, this hotel worked for me and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Nice hotel but not perfect

Ive stayed here a few times over the past couple of years whilst on business in Germany. The hotel is right in Bad Duerkheim which is a beautiful, fairly quiet town with great character right on the edge of the wine region. The hotel has clean, modern rooms with spa facilities and a nice bar/restaurant. The breakfast is good and the staff are excellent and all of the receptionists I have dealt with are very, well presented, helpful, and speak good English. There is a secure, underground carpark which can be used for 10Euro/night also. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, in the summer - particularly this year with the high temps the rooms are unbearably hot, and stay this way all through the night (the building seems to really hold the heat) this really took the shine off my most recent stay as I couldnt get to sleep, which is a shame as it is otherwise a very pleasant hotel.

    A nice hotel for Wurstmarkt

If you plan to visit Wurstmarkt in Bad Durkheim try to book this hotel. I stayed there at another ocassion but can recommend the hotel. Its licated right in the center of Bad Durkheim only 5-minute walk from Wurstmarkt. Nice rooms, good breakfast buffet, own parking and very readonably priced at least in November
