Great HotelWe stayed one night and the check in staff was friendly we asked for late check out and it was offered to us. The room was large and clean. The lighting in the room is nice at night. Shampoo, body wash, and condition were of nice quality. I would recommend some bottles of water in the room for the coffee and tea. I am gold elite and not sure if it was missed but usually I get that in the room automatically. The room looked a little bit like a dorm mostly because its very minimalist. I would recommend some more art on the walls and something to cover up the closet area. Over all for the price and location its a great choice!

Beware of dirty roomsI wanted to let you know of my experience while staying at the AC Hotel in Ashville. The Hotel itself was centrally located and had great ambiance including the roof bar/restaurant. What I didn't like what the cleanliness of our room. When we entered our room it was clearly visible that the room was dirty. The floor had crumbs all over over the place and their was an trail of ants taking those crumbs back within the wall. No big deal I initially thought. As I used a wash cloth and soap to wipe up the crumbs and visible ants, the white wash cloth was was a black handprint on the washcloth signaling that the floor was very dirty(I have pictures). I brought the washcloth down to the front desk immediately and showed that what I had found. The male manager on duty said that he personally watched housekeeping clean our room that day and that sometimes the hard to reach areas can be overlooked. He completely ignored my rebuttal when I told him this was right in front of the bed. He then proceeded to ask what I wanted him to do about it instead of offering up suggestions like sending someone up to wipe down the floor. His final offer was to provide me with a new washcloth. After getting nowhere with him I went back up to our room and used another washcloth to test right in front of bathroom. The result was almost the same. Again, the hotel was very beautiful however the staff clearly lacked basic knowledge of customer service and effective cleaning methods.

Great location, great bartender! My wife and I stayed there 24 FEB 21. This hotel is centrally located in the middle of downtown and has easy access to many shops and restaurants. The rooftop bar called Capella is great for having a light meal and drinks. We ordered the crab cakes and fried fingerlings potatoes. We enjoyed both. The highlight of our visit was meeting Mike the bartender. He there every day except Sunday and Monday. Mike made our first visit to Asheville a memorable experience. His quick service and attentiveness was evident throughout our our visit. His drink recommendations were spot on and made for a perfect evening. He presented us with a delicious Tiramisu before we left and it was the best we've ever had. Highly recommended! Our room was clean and comfortable. I don't know why there's so many negative reviews. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Quick Trip to the MountainsGood Overrall hotel for what we needed. Check-in was a little confusing; I would reccommend calling the hotel first to get directions for parking and locations. It was a bit difficult for us to navigate downtown (construction) and find the hotel. Everyone we met was pleasant and really enjoyed the central location. Also, make sure you go to The Med for breakfast. The hotel breakfast is too expensive.

Look elsewhere during CovidLet me start by saying I'm someone who has stayed at Marriott properties all over, who has traveled all over, and isn't inclined to slam a hotel unless it's a really bad experience. Which brings me to this review. We checked in Saturday for an 8 day stay. I've been asking to speak to a hotel manager since Sunday morning-it's Tuesday morning-I've been back to the front desk since to ask again-and nothing. Not a word. The manager doesn't appear to be on site often. The issue? While I support and understand limited housekeeping during Covid, we are very, very careful so we want that, we were surprised to learn that during our 8 day stay, even while out of the room, no-one would be emptying trash, bringing fresh towels or changing the sheets. Okay so we need to go to the front desk for all of those things. Got it. Need to change our own bed. Got it. But the attitude was "we don't control housekeeping, I can bring you towels, but have no idea about other stuff, no idea when a manager will be here, you're on your own, good luck" was shocking for a Marriot. And surprising for a 8 day stay! Then there's the elevator. They are not doing any housekeeping, yet they ARE operating their 9th floor bar, which means hordes of drunk people wanting in on the elevators that are clearly marked only 2 should ride at once. How Covid conscious are they really? They also haven't reprogrammed the elevators so they still operate for efficiency not Covid, which means they are always full, because of which floors they go to first, and you're always waiting. Prepare to wait at least 20 minutes to get anywhere, especially if you are in the garage and the elevator will pass by you, go the lobby, pick up a bunch of people and come back. Admittedly we are here for a week which means housekeeping is an issue. But the way it's been handled has been terrible, and honestly about the worst customer service we've experienced at a hotel. We are paying for a mountain view room so we are paying a decent rate here. Have not seen cleaning of any area going on since we got here. We chose this hotel for location and for our dogs. If you don't have dogs, stay at the Cambria. Great location as well and terrific service. And saw them deep cleaning lobby all the time.
