A two star hotel in heart of BakuI booked the hotel through booking.com for a night, my other hotel was full for that night so we needed a room for some hours, We got to the hotel about 4 to 5 am, on the building it was written Abu Arena but there was not the word Hotel. When we got in all the lights were off and the reception was on the second floor, there was no one to guide you, the reception staff was sleep in a room, which was in the back of the front desk. Keeping the door open with a pair of his shoe, and he had taken off his shirt. The atmosphere was a little bit scary for that time of night, not knowing the city nor the language. The rooms carpet was worn out and water stain in the toilet. As booking.com said it should have been a 4 star hotel but actually it was a two star one. Breakfast was awful, the bread didn't seem fresh, there was one type of bread, one type of jam in a plate, four types of cheese, scrambled egg, sausages, juice and fruit yogurt. The hotel seemed more kind of a family owned place than a hotel. I had paid 35$ a night, no tax or extra charges.

Two stars maximum for this oneThe facilities are very old and not comfortable. I`ve arrived during the holiday day and because of that I was informed that I will get the toilet paper the day after at least (!). The internet connection is very bad, had to use the internet in the restaurant near by. The swimming pool and gym do not actually belong to the hotel and are extra paid (which is not mentioned). The breakfest is also quite weak, rather Soviet style. One towel only per room, no shower gel. Room cleaning is available on request. It looks rather like hostel and I think Booking making a very big mistake positioning it as a 4 star hotel

Good enough for short stayThe hotel was old looking, but still comfort to stay. The staff was so friendly, will help you what you need. They will try to help you even they not completed your problem. I saw their effort. The hotel not accept card payment, so be ready with your cash, but they accept other currency other than Manat like USD. The payment will be when you check out from the hotel. The hotel give you deposit box for free, mostly hotel will charged you with additional fee and you will get free wi-fi as well. Location was in the city center, and there is bus stop in front of the hotel but not sure which bus hop on hop off there. There a mini market downstair so in case you need something, you probably can grab from this mini market. The restaurant is not self service, just sit, chill and wait, they will serve everything. For the food is standard but the portion is not for me, I just need two slices of bread and two spoon of jam but they just like give breakfast for 10 person. Overall 3* for the hotel is good enough.

Just priceI have stayed 2 nights here with my friends. No luxury, no clean, no service, no comfort, no restaurant, even no breakfast. Location is so far to city center by walking. But only price was acceptable. No more.
