  A real gem of personal service

  Excellent well-appointed and perfectly apportioned hotel with great location offering superb views over the water. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owners Scott & Darren who greeted us with a welcome drink and seated us in the traditional warm and cosy lounge, much needed after a long scenic drive (ignoring Scott`s advice of the discounted ferry travel using the local shop to purchase tickets). Before we even realised Scott had grabbed our bags and placed them in our room popping back offering to show us to our room at our leisure. This was the beginning of tireless hospitality that never ceased or faltered during our entire stay. Scott is ever present, in a friendly yet discreet manner, always with a warm and welcoming smile with friendly advice and local knowledge at hand. Scott and his team go above and beyond with the personal touch, from personal handwritten tags on provisions at the breakfast buffet to hand tied robes provided in the bedrooms the list goes on. Food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble at all if you wanted to tailor your choices away from the menu. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who longs for the personal touch that is lacking in the market, It's a true sample of excellent local hospitality. We heard many accents around the hotel from afar and as a proud Scotsman I know Scott and his team are showcasing what Scotland can offer in terms of hospitality and local food, thank you again Scott for going that step extra!!! Having understood you have not had the hotel for that long we wish you every success for the future and I am sure with the service you offer you will continue to get repeat customers like us coming back with word of mouth bringing along more like us.

  How do I triple the stars?

  Abbots Brae and its owners are ah-maze-ing. We stayed too short a time... From the moment we located the driveway entrance, I knew we'd love it. Because oh what a "Brae" this was... A cliffside view of stunning sunrises, a mountain of hospitality, a heap of good will. Scott and Darren were accommodating to treat us as if we were the center of their world, somehow both without overstepping nor with us at first realizing they had a full house. While they had other guests, everything felt at our fingertips, balanced incredibly with serene privacy for quiet moments. We enjoyed the glowlit property, the sitting room fireplace with custom-suggested drinks, and well-stocked everything. We wanted for nothing, and the genuine smiles we received mean we'll always fondly think of Abbots Brae.

  Wow what a beautiful place would highly recomend this hotel Scott an Darren made us all so welcome as the wedding party took over the whole hotel, nothing was to much trouble, food was great the rooms have great views its just perfect thanks again see you next time

  I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel in June 2018 for my wedding night. My brother and his new wife just got married here on New Years Eve and had the full use of the hotel for a couple of days. The service provided by the owners Scott and Darren was exceptional! They were extremely accommodating and their venue is stunning! The views from the hotel are outstanding and the hotel itself is classic and tastefully decorated, something I would love to own in my dreams! The photos are fabulous but until you see it in the flesh you cannot appreciate the beauty of the place. Everything about their stay from the planning, service, accommodation and food is worth far more than the 5 stars! Thank you so much to Scott and Darren for making everyone feel so welcome! Can't wait to return in the near future.

  Fabulous location. Owned and run by lovely people who will go out of their way to maintain the highest standard of customer service and satisfaction. The Abbots has a very homely feel whilst maintaining the highest standards.
