Nice and friendlyVisited this hotel for the weekend and was a nice pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There is limited parking on site for such a large hotel. The rooms look like they have been recently renovated to a good standard and the rest of the hotel is going through the process. The hotel was clean throughout.

Memorable and excellent experienceDace made our stay beautiful! She took very good care of us and my baby...it was almost as if she was a family! Dracana was another amazing staff member, very hard working and an absolute pleasure! Chris the entertainment manager made our evenings to be looked forward to. Food was exemplary and was served with much affection and taste! Abbey Sands are lucky to have these staff members. As a family we have decided that if we go to Torquay again it will be Abbey Sands! Truly truly lovely people and hotel.

Very friendly staffArrived for a two day stay for our 50th wedding Anniversary and was greeted by staff and showed parking space. That was lovely as it had our name on the reserved parking space. On signing in we were given the key to our room, on entering the room we could not believe the size. It was so spacious and the view we could see the sea. Lovely. Our children had ordered a bottle of wine and some strawberries coated in chocolate as a surprise for us. Breakfast in the morning was help yourselves to cereals coffee juice etc, and then could order cooked. Plenty of it if you wanted. We stayed in the hotel the first night and were shown to our table by Dace. She was so helpful and friendly and looked after us well. We used the indoor pool and jacuzzi and enjoyed every minute of it. The next evening we decided to stay in the hotel for our evening meal as well, Dace was again there to help and looking after us. We did have a little upset with the wrong meal which did spoil the evening. Dace was really upset about this. We hope the mistake wont happen again. We found the hotel clean and in walking distance to the theatre and the town. We would like to say a big thank you to Dace for all her help and the rest of the staff.

Family Weekend Away, as part of large group. We enjoyed a great weekend at the Abbey Sands Hotel, with family as part of a group. Having stayed several times previously, the familiar staff greeted us with a friendly smile. The room was great./the food was excellent and I enjoyed a good swim in the pool. All the staff were as friendly as ever and really looked after us. All I ask is that they finish the work in the gym. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you to all the management and staff.

A Pleasent Winter Overnight StayMy wife and I arrived on the day of a storm in February. We had a reserved parking space adjacent to the entrace bearing our name. There were not a lot of guests at that time so Reception were kind enough to upgrade us to a huge room with a four-poster bed and a sea view. The restaurant wasn't open for dinner but it's a nice walk into the town centre if it's dry. There are a couple of restaurants closer. We walked into town early and had a look round but due to the weather closing in made our way back to the closest restaurant for dinner. A good breakfast and great staff made this a very pleasent overnight stay. Would stay again.
