  Muy bueno, con la reforma gana mucho

  Muy buen hotel que con la reforma ha ganado mucho está cerca de barrow y el acceso A la ciudad es muy bueno las habitaciones espectaculares y el restaurante aunque no es lo mejor , pero la comida es barata y buena para ser Inglaterra. Yo seguro que repito. La sopa de champiñón increíble.

  Wonderful, unmissable place to stay !

  We just cannot fault this hotel, and had the most wonderful weekend arriving back home today. We are well travelled and this 4 star hotel is up there with the best of them. It started when we arrived and we were surprised and delighted to be upgraded to the Princess Suite. Just lovely and spotlessly clean and with tasteful decor; clearly recently modernised and with a view of the lovely garden and hills beyond. The bed was comfortable and room service with our breakfast superb. The hotel makes a great base to explore the southern Lake District and surrounding areas. Friendly locals who stop and chat and share local knowledge with you. Don't bother eating elsewhere, Oscars Restaurant is notable and the food delicious. The menu was, of necessity, abbreviated because of COVID19 and social distancing in the kitchen, but the quality and portions could not be faulted. We can't mention any staff by name because they were all marvellous, professional, attentive and informative with nothing too much trouble from reception, to bar to waiting staff. The COVID19 pandemic has no doubt curtailed freedom of movement but the hotel have put great thought into how this situation can be managed safely in the hotel. Masks are worn by staff and guests in the public areas except when dining or in the bar area where tables are at a suitable distance. We recommend Furness Abbey but got there too late and it was closed and we noted that you needed to book a visit any way. So go around to the left up the hill and walk along the path by the site railings and you will have a great view anyway.

  Date night away

  Just arrived back from a one night stay and wanted to mention how much we enjoyed our time here from the friendly and helpful staff who were professional and any request was met with a smile Our room was in the main building and was spotless with lovely bedding and walk in shower in the bathroom We had dinner and can only say it was perfectly presented And delicious had three courses beautifully cooked although on a limited menu at present due to the Covid restrictions social distancing in bar and restaurant masks worn by staff and guests at all times until seated table service and plenty of sanitising stations Slept like a log pre booked breakfast night before as a safe measure also to eliminate any wait or self service really efficient Will definitely return in the future hopefully when the weather is Warmer and we can sit outside on the patio taking in the glorious views

  Another Perfect visit

  I have had the pleasure of staying at Abbey House a couple of times now and I really cant sing it praises enough- the hotel is spotlessly clean, it feels absolutely safe with all precautions being made and the rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated. Oscars restaurant was superb, I love the goats cheese and the breakfast was delicious! I look forward to returning soon.

  Possibly the best hotel I have stayed in

  My partner and I had a night booked here after our wedding, as we slowly made our way back home from Gretna Green. Due to national Covid-19 restrictions all over we couldn't really have a proper honeymoon so we were making the most of the situation - we were planning on visiting the local Safari Zoo, and to treat ourselves we booked in at Abbey House due to the good reviews we had read. Oh my God, we were not prepared for what we were greeted with. The photos of Abbey House are spot on, it is a beautiful venue that looks picturesque. On checking in at reception the lovely lady that greeted us noticed our "bride" and "groom" face coverings - she asked if we were newlyweds and on it being confirmed she immediately upgraded us to a bridal suite (the Craven suite). We were in absolute shock. This is something that continued as we went to our upgraded suite and saw what we had been moved to.... oh my God! I have never stayed in a room as beautiful as this. I've included pictures to make anybody reading this jealous!! The bed was massive, the bath was gorgeous, there were 4 different types of shower for God sake!!! It was the perfect room for a newlywed couple looking to relax after a wedding. We were booked in for a meal that evening. When we went down we were greeted and taken to our table. When the drinks arrived we were told that the first drink was complimentary as newlyweds, and with the drink came a "congratulations" card from the hotel. The food was top class, my wife and I are both vegetarians and we had more than enough to choose from. Between us we had a falafel burger with chunks chips, and a 3 mushroom wellington for mains. Possibly the best food we have eaten... until the deserts came out... my wife had a sticky toffee pudding which had sauce that I could have just bathed in and died happy. The night in the room was extremely relaxing. There was atmospheric lighting from the artificial fire, it was absolutely silent, and we had a comfortable nights stay. We had breakfast in our room the next morning which was delivered promptly and was absolutely lovely. The vegan/vegetarian cooked breakfast might have been one of the best we have ever had. From start to finish this was an absolutely amazing experience. The hotel and friendly staff made up for not being able to have a proper honeymoon due to covid and they made us feel like guests of honor. This is absolutely somewhere I would recommend to people to visit, and we have already decided that we will definitely go back sometime in the future and stay longer.
