The inexpensive way to enjoy Venice!A Casa di Sandra, is the place to stay if you are looking for an inexpensive way of enjoying Venice. Sandra is a lovely host, made us feel at home immediately. Our room was on the ground floor, very spacious, and we also had our own bathroom, although it's outside the room. We were the only ones that used it. The house is situated in the countryside, lovely greenery and quite for a good nights sleep, but if you like night entertainment, not far you will find Mirano with lovely patisseries and cafes and trattorias and birrerias, and restaurants. We tried Myosoti's about 2 miles away from Casa di Sandra. Worth a visit, their pizza's are excellent and again not expensive. A meal for two with drinks will cost you around 17 euros in total. So good value for money and a lovely Italian atmosphere, pizzas are baked in a stone oven in the premises while you wait. You can see them being made. An experience in itself. We traveled to Venice last week April 4-7th. Casa di Sandra is very close to Marco Polo Airport, 30 minutes in fact by car, you can also use the train, closest train station to Casa di Sandra is Dolo station, if using GPS,the station is hard to find, it's behind the road you're on. Buses are very good as well and as the train inexpensive. A trip to Venice from Dolo is 2 euros 87 cents. One way, there are many trains every 20 minutes, except for Sunday's when they run less and they use the smaller trains. Make sure you get back on the train at least 20 minutes before departure, otherwise you won't find seats. Once in Venice, the places to eat and economical are in the secondary calles of Venice, the same for articles like Murano Glass and Masks. Walking is the best form of transport unless you want to visit the Islands. A day ticket on a vaporetto will be 18 euros per person. Or you can take the vaporetto to S Giorgio for 4 euros one way per person, leaves from S Zaccaria, just outside St Mark's square. A lovely place to stay Casa di Sandra to enjoy Venice the inexpensive way.

Excellent place to stay! The house and the garden are lovely. The landlady, Sandra, is incredibly nice and tries to speak as many languages as she can (French, English, German etc). She makes a very generous breakfast every morning. Besides there is a bus station close to her house where you can take a bus that goes straight to Venice. It really is the perfect place to stay!!!

Fantastic!!Stayed for 2 nights on a touring holiday, welcomed at the gate by Sandra who was very friendly and got us settled in straight away, lovely house in a very peaceful area, went to Dolo station and took a 30 minute train straight into Venice, nice room in a nice house with a family feel to it, would love to stay again

True homestaySandra is a perfect host. Communication before arrival on a very good level, pleasant welcome when you arrive and nice home breakfast served on the next day morning. House is over 100 years old and you can smell it. This old aroma iss not a bad smell for me but some people may not like it. Room that we got looked like a room of a child who has just left "the nest" going for studies maybe :-) Bathroom out of the room, so if there are more guests you may need to share it. Not so easy parking - ground is very limited and the entrance gate so narrow that some less brave drivers may feel challenged.
