Not recommended - poor cleaning and serviceThe room was dated and needed cleaning. The bed sheats were stained with blood. Hair was left in the bath. The sofa and carpet were both stained. The Nespresso coffee maker needed cleaning. So did the cup for the tooth brushes. The wallpaper on the walls was pealing off. We did get in touch on the phone with the land lord Sarah but first two hours after our arrival and after trying several times. She told us were to find clean bed sheats. I perfectly understand that the unmanned hotel is not cleaned everyday but our room was not cleaned once during our four day stay! We talked to other guests staying at the hotel who were also frustrated with not being able to get in touch with the land lord.

Uktourist2017Location of hotel is 10 minutes walk from Notting Hill Gate. The hotel room that I stayed at was room 2, the mini studio and cost £99 per night. All good so far. The room itself is on two levels with the bathroom at street level and the bedroom in the basement, accessed by a small spiral staircase. The bedroom being in a basement had a damp smell. There was a kettle but no cups and I had problems switching the TV on, so I called the mobile number provided but the person did not answer my calls. Luckily, I asked a neighbour who lent me a cup and after many attempts I got the TV working. Would I stay again in the same room...No, although I am not sure what the other rooms are like.

Super Notting Hill locationLocation is truly excellent if you'd like to be in Notting Hill and right on Portobello Road. Street food is awesome and everything from shops galore, a charming cinema to leafy pubs are there at your finger tips. A 2 minute walk to Notting Hill tube and just a meander to Hyde Park. I had a small tidy studio, unusual in so far as the bedroom was down a winding staircase... but certainly worked for me. I'm sure this location would not function to such an efficient degree without the most excellent service Sarah Wilson (on behalf of the host.) Economical indeed: if your 'an out and about person' this property is for you. Vicki Sydney Australia

Health & Safety nightmare with a strong dose of rudeness thrown in.READ ALL OF THIS....BE WARNED! The moment we saw the dirty walls in the unwelcoming hallway I had a bad feeling about this place. We were in room #5 which is described as the penthouse but is just the top floor reached by 2 flights of treacherous, narrow, steep stairs. Getting our bags upstairs was really difficult. We stayed at this establishment for 7 horrendous nights during which the room was serviced once. Here is a list of the things that were unacceptable: 1. the roof leaks - this is not a new problem as the water stains are evident on the ceiling. We had water all over the bathroom floor after a night of rain. 2. The electric powerpoint is hanging off the wall. 3. The rug is dirty. 4. The bed is BROKEN - the slats are actually snapped and lying on the floor underneath the bed. Makes you wonder when this area was last cleaned. 5. The heated towel rail doesn't heat so you have wet towels. 6. The extractor fan doesn't extract. 7. There is a hole in the wall that has not been repaired. 8. The windows are filthy. 9. The noise from the flat underneath can be clearly heard. 10.The wifi drops in an out. 11. Kitchen facilities are minimal - just a space to microwave food. 12.The glassware consists of two revolting OLD plastic camping goblets. 13.There is no tea or coffee provided but many sachets of sugar. 14.There was one miniature container of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc provided 15. We had to buy our own toilet rolls. 16.The water in the shower takes a long time to drain hence the horrid dirty stain on the shower base; the water needs to be turned off mid shower to stop it overflowing. 17.The bathroom cupboard door is hanging off. 18.Three times during our stay the main hallway was piled up with a delivery of about 10 or more large bags of linen. We had to squeeze by or climb over these; one pile remained there for 2 days. This is a major health and safety issue which I will be reporting to the relevant authorities. 19.Check in isn't until 3pm but as the "hotel" is unattended at all times there is nowhere to leave your luggage; we had to drag our suitcases around London for 8 hours. 20.Communication is hopeless. Despite frequent phone calls to the numbers provided no one got back to us and the answering machine, emails and texts all went unanswered. The owner will say this is the fault of Bookings.com who do give one dead number but even if you leave a message on her phone directly she still doesn't call back! 21.During our stay we came back to find the front door had been broken in to and could no longer be shut. We tried for 3 hours to make contact through the numbers provided on the front door. Finally, when we were about to pack up and leave, as it was 7pm on Saturday night and we didn't feel safe having no front door, we managed to get in touch with Sarah. (she says she is the owner) Sarah denied having received any phone calls from us despite texts and messages to the same number that we were speaking to her on. We told her that we would be leaving feedback on social media because of the various problems and she immediately aggressively accused us of threatening her (!) and told us to get out and that she would change the PIN to the entry door so we couldn't access our room!!! She ranted on, talking over my husband, and finally said that a locksmith had been called. I tried again to contact her before we left to ask for the piled up laundry bags in the hallway to be moved so that we could have access to get our luggage out - no response. I would recommend that this place be shut down. It is dangerous. It is poorly maintained. We booked it through Bookings.com and didn't take the time to read the terrible reviews as we wanted to be in this area. Incidentally, Bookings.com were also unhelpful when we contacted them saying that so long as there was a door to our room then they didn't see a problem with the main front door being kicked in!!!!! They also tried to contact the owners but were unable to do so. Yes it is a good location but there are plenty of other places nearby. No one should have to put up with this. Had we had any confidence that we would get our money back we would have left immediately.

Avoid at All CostsThis place is a disgrace which is compounded by the complete lack of communication from anyone in management / ownership to even attempt to resolve anything whatsoever. Dont be fooled; when they reference Penthouse they mean a seriously rundown room that is dirty, cold without basic amenities and zero service. Expect dirty linen, broken power outlets, non functioning heating and air conditioning with zero working Wi-fi. A true embarrassment to see in Notting Hill.
