    Nice structure but dirty

The rooms have a very nice size, the reception is very nice, but the bedroom was smelling bad, the carpet was dirty. Very nice breakfast that is served in a hotel on the other side of the street The location is very good. Close to the city center

    Don't be fooled by pictures

This hotel was one of the worst we've ever stayed. We put up with it because the price was good. There was no non-smoking room. Even they had the air purifier, the smell of cigarettes was so awful. The smell stuck on our clothes and hair. We couldn't even sleep. The carpet had big stains. It looked like somebody trashed this place after a big party. The floor was filthy and we didn't want to take our shoes off (taking shoes off in the room is Japanese custom). The big dated heater didn't work and it was freezing! The table had damages and the corners of the room were full of dusts. The bathroom was painted in black and looked spooky. Only good thing was the outdoor Jacuzzi. Still it was so cold and we got cold after bathing. It needs serious remodeling. I took some pictures, but I dumped them after I put them in my blog. Those pictures were ugly.

Convenient Location, Large enough room for a couple with an Infant.

My wife booked this Hotel for the simple reason we needed enough space for a fold out cot for our child. Also keeping in mind our budget & need to travel close by to attractions. Anyone travelling within Japan would realise room space comes with price, hence our decision to stay here. To first understand that this district is primarily the red light district of Fukuoka. Though as most things are done in Japan, it is not in your face. There are couples & singles that reside in the Hotel for that reason, again it is very discreet. Having said that, we did encounter others with infants staying here for the same reasons. The room that we had for 5 nights was spacious & clean. Bed was comfortable (King Size). The Shower room was great with a bath & shower seperate (adjustable water temperature). Very cool part of the room, made life easy with the child at bath time due to it's space. Toilet is seperate, as is the sink and hanging space. Fridge is normal hotel size, with a small freezer section. There is a desk with a good sized bench, bench space also extends across the wall behind the bed. All lighting can be controlled by switches next to the bed. Hanging space is at a minimum (2 x Hangers on the wall). Is also an air purifier in the room, due to most rooms usually accomodating smoking, Though the room did not smell as such. From Fukuoka Airport can catch the train (Kuko Line, Orange) to Nakasu Kawabata station. From there it impossible to walk.(We did so with 2 x large luggage & child in a stroller). Can also get off at Tenjin station, though you will not see the sign above the river for 5th Hotel East. 5th Hotel East is next door but not on the river. Meals can easily be found nearby, as there are many restaurants. The hotel does not have a kitchen/restaurant service. Convenience stores are aplenty. In the lobby there is a Microwave to heat meals if needed. There is a good Green Grocer 2 blocks from the hotel. Also a discount pharmacy selling everything you need for a young child. I have read previous reviews of this Hotel, I understand some may find the location within a red light district to be inappropriate. Though location to Transport, shops, attractions within walking distance this hotel is great as is the room size for the price. If you need a Hotel with a spacious convenient room for price, this is the one. I am happy to recommend this Hotel.

    Don't Believe the photos

Worst hotel I have ever been in .Smelly, dirty, old run down .Had bad feeling as soon as we walked into lobby if you could call it that ,dark with a terrible damp smell .Checked in walked up to room past rubbish bags in the corridor .Started to really worry , walked into room absolutly disgusting stained walls floor and carpet and curtains . Could hardly see out the window it was so filthy. Obviously all the good reviews have being written by the owners .Photos have definitely being photo shopped . We only paid 11000 yen so we just walked down to reception and asked if we could get a refund which was refused so we just handed the key back in and got the hell out of there . Trip advisor and Agoda should be ashamed for having such an establishment on the web sites . When all the good reviews are obviously total fiction . As we were escaping we saw that the hotel was being shut down in a month only a few years too late . So just don't do it to yourself and stay away

Very poor service, the worst I have experienced ever

I booked a room for four people (1 adult and 3 children age 10+) The room was made up for 3 people when I asked for help to make a 4th bed the staff was unwilling and unable to help. Nobody spoke English and their only solution was to book an additional room which was a smoking room for a very "special price", which by the way, is the same price as advertised on Tripadvisor...... not really special after all They also refused to waiver the cancelation fee, when I asked to change to another hotel with 4 beds. The hotel staff's lack of willingness to help and provide service was very poor. There are plenty of hotels in Fukuoka, no reason at all to choose this one.
