  No me alojé en él, fuimos a cenar y a visitar el pueblo. El pueblo es pequeño pero muy pintoresco y el hotel muy bonito (lo que pudimos ver ya que no vi las habitaciones) La cena muy rica con platos típicos suecos

  Very pleasant historical hotel by the Lake Mälaren

  Located in one of the oldest towns in Sweden, the hotel has kept its 19th century charm. The staff were friendly and helpful. Comfortable room and bed, with heated floor in the bathroom. Good breakfast buffet. The lunch and dinner were somewhat disappointing, with a high degree of sophistication in the description of the food, but the execution was not up to par. The combination of ingredients did not fully match. The white wine served with the appetizer was oddly semi sweet, and did not marry well with the dish. Overall, the stay was very pleasant and the only disappointment was the food. The kitchen might need to review their ambitions.

  Amazing stay at a genuine hotel with great attention to detail!

  We wanted to spend a night at the hotel to celebrate my wife´s birthday, which I just happened to mention when I made the reservation. Apparently, the staff took notice of this and we were then greeted by a bowl of fresh fruit and a gratulation card in our room when we arrived, a pleasant surprise. We also has an amazing afternoon tea with great service by professional and friendly staff. You can tell that the owners and the staff is proud over the hotel and do their utmost to make guests feel welcome by attention to the smallest details, from the level of service to the design of utensils at the breakfast buffet.

  Brilliant in every respect

  Absolutely fantastic. From the moment you leave the high street to enter the old hotel to the moment you leave its just a treat. Food was excellent, as was the service, the view, the atmosphere, everything. It was a pleasure to dine here. Perfect! Thank you.

  Some details left to work on

  We chose Sigtuna Stadshotell for a Friday-Saturday stayover with friends because we had heard that the restaurant should be something extraordinary. The hotel itself is really nice and the staff is very friendly and the attention to details is very good when it comes to the accommodation - e.g. staff visiting your room in the evening settings your blinds etc. Unfortunately the restaurant didnt really meet up with our expectations. The food was good, absolutely, but not extraordinary. The sad part about the dinner though was that service wasnt very attentive and didnt live up to the ambitions that the hotel itself seems to have. Dinner started off really good and we were surprised with a little snack and bread&fennel pollen butter served on a warm slate stone. But between the dishes and after dinner we were pretty much left alone. No service refilling the wine glasses (of course we can manage ourselves but unusual at an ambitious establishment to have to) and most of all at the end of dinner when asked if we wanted coffee but not e.g. if we wanted an avec with it. And after dessert we werent asked at all if we wanted something more or payed attention to for almost a full hour after finishing. Very odd as the restaurant wasnt busy at all at that time. So - great hotel but the restaurant experience wasnt really anything special. If this is normal the restaurant probably miss out on quite some opportunities for additional sales (and really happy guests).
