  Great B&B in a beautiful location

  We decided to take a break from the big hotel chains and stay in this lovely B&B for a couple of days. We'd not stayed in an American B&B before so didn't know what to expect. The hosts were very welcoming and gracious, they weren't intrusive but provided a friendly atmosphere and more than happy to help or answer any questions. The food at breakfast was excellent and far surpassed our expectations. We'd recommend this B&B and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area. Carole, Tom and Marley do a grand job!

  The BEST B and B yet!

  I have stayed in many B and Bs. The 1861 Inn gets top billing. Amazing history, beautifully furnished and decorated. We stayed in the Cottage, which was the original smokehouse on the property. Literally 4 steps from our door was a large in-ground pool - so refreshing on a hot summer day. The bed was comfortable with high-end linens. Such a quiet and relaxing place. Carole and Tom are delightful hosts, and prepared a sumptuous breakfast. The 1861 Inn gets my highest possible rating. We cant wait to return!

  Beautiful Setting and Gracious Hosts!

  My honey and I spent a lovely night in the cozy cottage---formerly the smokehouse-- and had a wonderful stay! Carole and Tom are such gracious hosts and made us feel like family instead of guests...not to mention Marley, their pooch, who greeted us each time we emerged from the cottage. The backyard pool was so refreshing and the lush landscaping made for a private oasis! Breakfast was delicious and made a great start to our busy day. The history of the Inn was fascinating as well. We plan to be returning guests for sure!!

  Wonderful getaway

  Tom and Carole are the most gracious and accomodating hosts...lovely to talk to them about the history of the property, local restaurants and attractions, over-the-top homemade breakfast. We are early risers and had coffee delivered outside the room before breakfast to enjoy on the porch on day 1, and delayed breakfast until after church on day 2. Highly recommend for a 1-2 night getaway just outside Cincinnati (not too far if need to go into the city).

  Tom, Carole are incredible inn keepers and classy folks!

  We found the PERFECT place. I mean it. Carole and Tom are the owners of this lovely B&B. It is a little out of the way but not much and it is totally worth it! If you are looking for a place after you explore Cincinnati for a lot of pampering and relaxation, you must go to 1861 Inn. The house is spectacular and there is a pool! We loved our room and our porch that was all ours. We spent nights swimming and then relaxing on the porch with some wine and candles and totally forgot about all our troubles. The food dont get me started on the food. Gourmet, gourmet, gourmet. The service was delightful! Coffee delivered to our door in the morning, table set for breakfast was impeccably done and even cookies delivered to our door at night. AND then there is Marley the dog who supervises and loves everyone! We even met some incredible people during our visit. We had the best time and hopefully will be back soon. Be sure to check this place out. I am sure any time of year, it is perfect. Carole and Tom are such lovely folks and you will enjoy the entire experience. I guarantee it!
