  Beautiful lucky find

  We were moved to this hotel after our our original hotel was flooded - lucky escape by all accounts! The hotel is located in a quiet residential area with views back down onto Pretoria. From the moment we walked in the staff were welcoming and attentive. We got into to our room much earlier than check in time, which was great as we were straight off the plane and due at the cricket. The accommodation was fantastic, a huge room with an attached lounge and a massive bed. Communal areas were tastefully decorated, helping to give the feel of a home away from home. Breakfast was great and served with a smile, again with nothing being too much effort. Id thoroughly recommend this hotel.

  Feedback

  Good but need some improvements - butter was never included - needed to ask for it. Had to reminded the waiter of the champagne that was suppose to be included - nothing was offered, needed to ask every time for everything

  Two week stay

  Very conveniently located with quite atmosphere. The staff were helpful and made me feel at home within the first day of stay. I am planning to use the hotel for periods of 2 weeks at a time, 4 times per year.

  Disappointment

  What a disappointment this hotel was. Beautiful building but it needs a lot of work. Our bedroom ceiling leaked so we had to move rooms and the passage ceiling looked like it was about to fall in. We arrived New Years Eve and asked about dining, There was a small menu which seemed too much trouble to serve us and the table cloths were dirty. There seemed to be lot of power play between the staff one was telling us one thing and the other was saying something else. Not known to us one of the staff cancelled our transport to our train to Cape Town and we arrived very late. We have stayed in many hotels throughout the world and this has been one of our worst experiences.

  Debased:A shadow of former glory.

  Spent the night with rowdy patrons who reduced the once respectable, upmarket establishment into a gaudy, twopenny-halfpenny nightlife place resemblant of Sunnyside, Pretoria. Staff were not in sight nor on call to tame the situation.
