Holes and bloodstains in our sheets...We booked this hotel because we wanted to be close to the airport. It's a pretty surreal place: everything from the piano bar entrance (which always looks like the sort of place where there's just been a huge party), to the decadent rooms, to the pale green old Merc that takes you to the airport makes for an unusual stay. They would just about get away with it all if the rooms were clean. Unfortunately, when my friend and I got into our separate twin beds, we discovered cigarette holes on the sheets and bloodstains. How housekeeping can fit those sheets on the bed is beyond me. So gross. Also, the water temperature in the shower fluctuates violently for no apparent reason. Would never stay here again.

Pleasant Stay!I stayed at 13 coins 13th and 14th January. I had an enjoyable and pleasant stay. I paid 700 Baht a night. And had no previous booking. I went to hotel with friends who have been before. But next time I will stay closer to town and airport for cheaper! The room was spacious and bathroom was great with western toilet and had a bath and shower. Water was hot! Room had air con. Had tv and bed was big and comfortable. The restaurant is very big and the evening meals are delicious and menu offers foods from all over the world are available. Your meals are very big! I wouldn't pay the extra for breakfast though, I would pay as you go. The breakfast has limited choice and not so great. Wifi in lobby and a computer is available which is high speed. The evening entertainment is not so great and can be quiet loud! Location not so great about 20 mins from airport and very far from town! Beware most taxi drivers will not know where the 13 coin hotel is the card from reception I good and has a map on back so good to take out with you! All in all pleasant stay for 2 nights before flight when I just stayed in hotel.

WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED INDo NOT come here understand any circumstances. It says it's an airport hotel, however it's about half an hour from the airport it's supposedly closest too- and that's if there's no traffic. The hotel has a horrible stench, and when you first arrive in the lobby you are greeted by dirty tanks full of shrimps. It's extremely dingy, and not one of the staff speaks any English at all. They demanded our passports when we arrived, then one worker not behind the reception desk picked mine up and started flicking through it and laughing to himself. The staff are immensely rude. Our room was filthy, dirty old flip flops had been left in there from either the cleaner/the people before us. There was old plates of food left on the landing for the whole stay. We tried to organise with the reception a taxi to pick us up at 3:30am in order to catch our flight, however they could not understand us no matter how hard they tried. They finally said they understood, however when we got to our room we received a call from the reception and when we said we couldn't understand them they hung up. We had to go down to the reception again and on coming down were shoved a phone at by the receptionist who couldn't tell us who we were talking to. It turned out to be the manager on the phone who was the only person who could apparently speak the slightest amount of English. Horrific experience, the whole room was unhygienic and I felt dirty sleeping in the bed.

Average rooms yummy foodThe rooms are Cheap prices, average but clean. As some have previously said it's quite dingy. yummy food at the restaurant. Fairly close to everything but wouldn't recommend you come here unless you are with Thai nationals or someone that speaks Thai!

Faded splendourThe location suited us, and the photos we'd seen suggested lovely rooms and gardens. Had we not arrived there very late - at 1.00am - we would have left immediately we saw the bedrooms. At some time, many decades ago, the decor and furniture throughout the hotel were grand and luxurious. Since then, wear and tear, together with damp and decay have ruined the place. In our bedroom, the dampness around one of the windows was so bad that most of the wall had been covered with aluminium foil. Mouldings were hanging off the wall. Furniture bore a tell-tale tide-line of previous soakings at floor level. In the bathroom, a strong scent of urine led us to believe that the submerged marble tiles indicated a leak from the toilet. It was impossible to use the toilet without standing in the puddle that extended across half the room. Staff couldn't care less about the appearance of the place or offering a service. "you should speak to the manager" they said. Promised Wi-Fi existed only in reception, despite the calls made to staff from both the rooms we occupied. Breakfast was surprisingly good, though the staff insisted that they should be charged as an extra despite our copy of the booking confirmation showing otherwise.
